LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior
Jay O'Keefe of the Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team has been named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Team of the Week.
O'Keefe led the W&L defensive efforts in a 2-0 week for the 16th-ranked Generals, totaling seven ground balls and five caused turnovers. He opened with two caused turnovers and four ground balls in a 14-10 comeback win at home against Roanoke on Wednesday night, before he went for three ground balls, three caused turnovers and a goal in a 24-5 win at Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday.
O'Keefe is the first W&L men's lacrosse player to be named to the USILA Team of the Week since
Elliot Cohen earned a nod on April 2 last season.
The Generals will be back in action on Wednesday night when they host Guilford at 6:00 p.m. at Wilson Field.
