Schleusner Named USBWA National Player of the Week, Selected to D3hoops.com Team of the Week

LEXINGTON, Va. - Senior Mary Schleusner of the Washington and Lee University women's basketball team picked up a pair of national honors as she was named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) National Player of the Week while being selected to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Schleusner helped lead the Generals to a perfect 25-0 record this season, the first undefeated season in program and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) history, while becoming just the third program in league history to go undefeated in conference play.


This week, Schleusner averaged 21.0 points on 43.9 percent shooting from the floor while grabbing 17.0 rebounds per game in wins over Bridgewater and Guilford. She added six steals, four blocks, and two assists in the victories as well. Schleusner scored 11 points while grabbing 13 rebounds with five blocks and two assists in the 67-38 win over Bridgewater. On Saturday, she scored 31 points on 13-of-23 shooting while grabbing 21 rebounds in an 85-62 win over Guilford. Schleusner added five steals, three blocks, and one assist in the win as well.


Schleusner and the fourth-ranked Generals are back in action on Wednesday evening as they take on Roanoke College in the ODAC Quarterfinals at 7 p.m. inside Holekamp Gym.
