Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

No. 33 Men's Tennis takes down Centre to kick-off road trip

DANVILLE, Ky. – The No. 33 Washington and Lee men's tennis team played in its first Division III match of the spring season and walked away with a 5-2 win at Centre on Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Generals took two of the three doubles matches for the opening point. Junior Sanjheev Rao and sophomore Ryan Good posted a 6-2 victory at No. 2, with first-years Todd Cannaliato and Pearce Lane matching that result at No. 3.
  • W&L then went on to win four of the six singles matches to cruise to victory. All six singles matches ended in straight sets.
  • Sophomore Sahil Arora (4), Lane (5) and Rao (6) notched the top singles wins for the Blue and White. Arora was a 6-1, 6-4 victor, Lane dropped just one game in his two sets, and Rao claimed a 6-0, 6-3 win.
  • Junior Heys Parker earned a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 (1) win at No. 1 to round out the winning Generals.
  • The two Centre wins came at No. 2 and No. 3 thanks to Dylan Dethridge and Ben Rueff, respectively. Dethridge topped Cannaliato, 6-3, 6-2 and Rueff final was 6-4, 6-3 over first-year Justin Ilie.

The Generals will turn around and do battle with No. 13 Kenyon on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in Danville, Ky.
