LEXINGTON, Va. – Senior

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Generals (4-0) got wins at the top two doubles positions to get the match's opening point. Senior Grace Lorenz and sophomore Allie Murrell got on the board first, 6-4, at No. 2, before Long and sophomore Sarah Donnelly rallied late for a 7-5 win at No. 1.
- Despite not getting any team points in doubles, the Garnet (0-2) won the No. 3 doubles match, 7-5, thanks to Ella Strickler and Riya Rao.
- Long was first to finish in singles with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 1, before Donnelly finished off a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2 shortly after. Lorenz then clinched the match for the Generals at No. 3, fighting off a loss in the first set, 4-6, to take the next two, 6-4, 6-3.
- Murrell continued the winning for the Blue and White at No. 4 with a 7-6 (4), 6-4 win. That included rallying from down 1-4 in the opening set.
