Eight Generals Selected to CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Eight members of the Washington and Lee University football team were selected to the 2025 Division III Football College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.

The W&L honorees included seniors Josh Garcia and Will Knight, juniors Mac Palmer, Teddy Sparrow, Wesley Howenstein and Allan Gushue and sophomores Brennan Stout and Jack Clayton. Knight earned his third straight Academic All-District citation while Palmer joined him as a two-time honoree. Garcia, Stout, Clayton, Sparrow and Howenstein all earned the award for the first time in their careers.


The CSC (formerly CoSIDA) recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Student-athletes are eligible for this award by maintaining a 3.50 grade point average or better while playing in 90% of the program's matches or starting 66% of matches played. This award is nominated and voted upon by members of CSC.
