LEXINGTON, Va. – Washington and Lee University Head Men's Tennis Coach David Detwiler has announced that Sam Concannon is stepping down as the Assistant Men's Tennis Coach to accept the Assistant Women's Tennis Coach position at Middlebury College.

Concannon departs Lexington after serving one season as the men's tennis assistant coach. During his stint with the Blue and White, the Generals posted a 16-7 overall record, which included a 9-0 mark in ODAC play during the regular season. Concannon also aided recent graduate Evan Erb '25 to his second career appearance in the NCAA Division III Singles Championship.

The Generals continued their individual dominance in the ODAC by posting the fourth straight season with 10 All-ODAC citations. Erb, Will Kistler '25 and Heys Parker each made the All-ODAC First Team in both singles and doubles, while James Kurani, Ryan Good and Eli Hirshberg combined for four more citations. Good was also recognized as the ODAC co-Rookie of the Year, the fourth different General in program history to do so.

A national search for the next W&L men's tennis assistant coach will begin immediately.
