W&L Athletics Spring Sport Selections Central

INDIANAPOLIS – The Washington and Lee Generals have three spring sport teams who have earned the ODAC's automatic qualification into their sport's respective national tournament and two teams vying for at-large bids.

The Blue and White's outdoor track and field teams are also hoping to qualify individuals for the DIII National Championships in Geneva, Ohio on May 22-24.

MEN'S LACROSSE 

HOST SITE: Washington and Lee, 2nd and 3rd round

Junior Elliot Cohen tallied the game-winning goal in overtime from close range following a pass from junior James Haley to clinch the No. 9 Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team's 13th ODAC Tournament championship, 13-12, on Saturday afternoon over No. 14 Lynchburg. With their win, the Generals earned the ODAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship. Men's Pod Release

WOMEN'S LACROSSE 

HOST SITE: Sewanee, 1st and 2nd round

The ninth-ranked Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team captured its 25th Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship and 15th consecutive crown with a 14-6 win over second-seeded Shenandoah on Sunday afternoon at Watt Field. The victory came in front of a packed Alumni Weekend crowd as the top-seeded Generals (16-4) capped another dominant conference campaign. Washington and Lee will now await the results of the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Selection Show, scheduled for Monday at 10:30 a.m., to learn its postseason opponent and destination. WOMEN'S TENNIS

Selection Show: May 5, Noon

For the 22nd straight season and 34th time in its history, the No. 39 Washington and Lee women's tennis team hoisted the ODAC championship trophy following a 4-0 win against Averett on Sunday.With their win, the Generals earned the ODAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship. WOMEN'S GOLF

Field Release: May 5

The No. 15-ranked Washington and Lee University women's golf team secured its seventh consecutive ODAC Championship on last week, completing a wire-to-wire victory at the 2025 ODAC Women's Golf Championships at Stoney Creek Golf Course at Wintergreen Resort (Par 72, 5,676 yards).With the ODAC title secured, the Generals will await the announcement of the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship field on Monday, May 5. The national championship will feature 34 teams and 176 players, with 25 automatic qualifiers and nine at-large selections, along with six individual at-large qualifiers. MEN'S GOLF

Field Release: May 12th

While Lynchburg earned the ODAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship, Washington and Lee—ranked No. 1 nationally—will await an expected at-large selection to the 43-team national field. The championship will be held at Midvale Country Club in Penfield, N.Y., and will feature 34 automatic qualifiers and nine at-large selections, along with several individual qualifiers chosen by the Division III Men's Golf Championship Committee.The full National Championships field was announced on NCAA.com, here

MEN'S & WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

Members of the Generals are continuing their quest to improve their marks in order to qualify for the DIII T&F championships meet. The fields will be announced on NCAA.com later in May but you can keep track of W&L performances and how they stack up against the nation by viewing the TFRRS performance list for the men and women, here. The full field will be announced on NCAA.com, here, for the May 22-25 event in Geneva, Ohio.
