NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Washington and Lee University senior co-captains Libby Ford and Cat Caples have been named to the 202 IWLCA Division III All-America teams, as announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association on Friday afternoon.

Ford earned Second Team All-America honors on defense, while Caples was selected to the Third Team All-America squad, marking a significant national recognition for the duo after leading the Generals to another standout season.

Washington and Lee concluded the 2025 season with an 18-5 overall record, claiming its 25th Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) championship and reaching the NCAA regional semifinals for the 16th time in program history, including the sixth consecutive appearance.

A four-year contributor and two-year starter, Ford capped her career with 73 appearances, 45 starts, 107 ground balls, and 60 caused turnovers. As a junior, she stepped into a starting role and helped guide W&L to the NCAA quarterfinals, earning a spot on the ODAC All-Tournament Team.

In her senior season, Ford emerged as the leader of one of the nation's top defensive units. She led the Generals with 62 ground balls and 41 caused turnovers, securing honors as the ODAC Defensive Player of the Year, as well as First Team All-ODAC, First Team All-Region, and USA Lacrosse Magazine First Team All-American selections.

Caples garners her first career All-America nod following a standout senior campaign in which she served as the primary draw specialist and defensive anchor for the Generals. She started 20 games and posted 84 draw controls, 26 caused turnovers, and 37 ground balls, while also adding two transition goals.

Caples led a defensive unit that held opponents to single-digit goals in 15 contests and finished the year with a 6.9 goals-against average. Her contributions were critical to W&L's continued dominance in the ODAC and postseason success.

Over her four-year career, Caples amassed 235 career draw controls—third-most in program history—alongside 64 caused turnovers and 88 ground balls.

The 2025 IWLCA All-America teams include 57 student-athletes from 25 institutions, celebrating the top performers in Division III women's lacrosse. The Old Dominion Athletic Conference had one additional honoree on the IWLCA list, Roanoke's Grace Koutouzis.
