LEXINGTON, Va. – Recent Washington and Lee University graduate Libby Ford, of Denver, Colo., has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-America First Team, becoming the first player in program history to earn first-team recognition and just the fourth women's lacrosse student-athlete to garner national Academic All-America honors in the At-Large division.

Ford joins an exclusive list of W&L women's lacrosse Academic All-Americans, including Angie Carrington (third team, 1994), Cordelia Peters (third team, 2018 and 2019) and Landon Shelley (second team, 2021). All three previous honorees were recognized in the at-large category by the national organization.

A four-year contributor and two-year starter for the Generals, Ford appeared in 73 career games, making 45 starts, and totaled 107 ground balls and 60 caused turnovers. She helped lead Washington and Lee to four Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) championships and multiple deep postseason runs, including a pair of NCAA quarterfinal appearances.

Ford became a full-time starter as a junior, starting all 22 games and earning a spot on the ODAC All-Tournament Team as the Generals captured their 14th consecutive conference title and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals.

As a senior co-captain in 2025, Ford anchored one of the top defensive units in NCAA Division III. She led the team with 62 ground balls and 41 caused turnovers, while collecting a number of honors, including ODAC and VaSID Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-ODAC, First Team IWLCA All-Region, USA Lacrosse Magazine First Team All-America, and IWLCA Second Team All-America.

In the classroom, Ford majored in history and sociology and anthropology with a minor in data science. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and was active in campus service organizations including WLU NeighborShare, Habitat for Humanity and the Generals Repair Club while in Lexington. Ford is a seven-time W&L Scholar-Athlete, a four-time Academic All-ODAC honoree, and a three-time President's List qualifier.

Washington and Lee concluded the 2025 season with an 18-5 overall record, securing its 25th ODAC title and advancing to the NCAA regional semifinals for the 16th time in program history.
