D'Ambrosia Resets Program Record on Day One of Doc Jopson Invite

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Senior Ashley D'Ambrosia of the Washington and Lee University women's track and field team reset her own program record in the pole vault on the first day of the Doc Jopson Invite on Friday.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • D'Ambrosia highlighted the first day of action, resetting her own program record and setting a new facility record in the pole vault after clearing a personal-best height of 3.78m (12'-04.75") to secure a first-place finish. Her mark currently ranks third in Division III.
  • Brianna Breyault posted a first-place finish in her first 3,000m steeplechase of the season, clocking in a time of 11:38.49.
  • Layla Keadle, Gabby Pullen, and Abby Cholewa also competed alongside D'Ambrosia in the pole vault on Friday. Keadle finished in second place with a personal-best mark of 3.48m (11'-05.00"), while Pullen and Cholewa tied for fourth place with a mark of 3.03m (9'-11.25").
  • Mackenzie Morante was the lone General in the triple jump on Friday, leaping 10.48m (34'-04.50") to finish in fourth place.
  • Bailey Hedgemon and Emily Jackson rounded out the first day of action in the discus. Hedgemon finished in fifth place with a season-best mark of 33.08m (108'-06.25"), while Jackson finished two spots behind in seventh after recording a toss of 32.29m (105'-11.25").
