Carr, Evans Conclude Indoor Season at NCAA Championships

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Law Student Cassie Carr and Sophomore Jesma Evans of the Washington and Lee University women's track and field team wrapped up their Indoor season at the 2025 NCAA National Championships on Friday afternoon.

Carr kicked off the National Championships for the Generals in the mile run, entering the event with the 19th-fastest time in the country. Competing in the first section, she crossed the finish line in a new personal-best and program-record time of 4:56.58, finishing in 11th place overall and missing the finals by just 0.20 seconds. Her finish earned her Second Team All-American honors for the first time in her career.


Evans competed in the 400m at her first national meet, entering the event with the 19th-fastest time in the selected field. She clocked a time of 57.69s, finishing fourth in her heat and 19th overall.


Camille Gillum and Olivia Warr will wrap up the National Championships tomorrow afternoon as they compete in the high jump and 3,000m, respectively. The high jump is slated to start at 3:30 p.m. with the 3k set to kick off at 6 p.m.
