KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches announced the 2025 Men's Soccer All-Region and All-America teams this week, and Washington and Lee senior
Willy Hall led the Generals' five selections.
Hall placed on the All-Region First Team, followed by juniors
Spencer Furman and
Matthew Jenkins on the second team. Seniors
Buster Couhig and
Will Joseph completed the five W&L honorees with All-Region Fourth Team nods.
Hall was a force on both ends of the field for the Generals, contributing 12 points on three goals and six assists, while also aiding in the team posting a 0.62 goals-against average in its 21 games. A 2025 First Team All-ODAC player, Hall's six assists led the team and were double his previous single-season career high from last year. Overall, Hall's 12 points were second on the team.
Furman had another strong season on the W&L backline to claim his first career All-Region citation, on top of also being a First Team All-ODAC pick. With Furman's help, the Generals shut out their opponents 11 times in their 21 games and allowed 3.2 shots on goal per game. Furman also had four goal contributions in the form of two goals and two assists (6 pts).
Jenkins earns his second straight all-region citation and moves up to the second team after landing on the fourth team as a sophomore. In 18 games this season, Jenkins produced eight points on two goals and four assists. One of his goals helped the team to a tie against H-SC in the regular season, with an assist each against Bridgewater (10/29) and Randolph-Macon (11/1) leading to wins.
Couhig paced the W&L offense throughout the season, and leading the team in both goals (7) and points (16). Couhig also scored when the team needed it most, as four of his tallies were game-winners this year, which was also a team high. He put together a span of one goal in four of five games at the end of the regular season and assisted on two scores to help the team past Hampden-Sydney in the ODAC semifinals.
Joseph, now a three-time all-region and four-time All-ODAC goalkeeper, owned nine shutouts this season and a 0.55 goals-against average across 1,485 minutes between the posts, with a 0.824 save percentage, as well. In his 17 games played, Joseph allowed one or fewer goals in 15 outings. Earlier this season, Joseph became the program's all-time leader in clean sheets (32), and he ended his playing career with the fifth-best career goals-against average (0.91).
The Generals amassed an 11-5-5 overall record this season and made their fourth consecutive trip to the ODAC championship game, before getting an at-large into their 10th straight NCAA Tournament.
