LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced the seedings for the upcoming Women's Soccer Championship and Washington and Lee earned the top seed.
Â
The Generals completed the regular season with an overall record of 14-2-1 and 10-0 in conference play, the second-straight perfect season in ODAC play for the Blue and White. W&L has won 10 consecutive games overall and is unbeaten in the last 11 after a tie against then third-ranked Christopher Newport, 0-0, on September 20.
Â
Virginia Wesleyan will be the No. 2 seed in this year's championship field, proceeded by Shenandoah as the No. 3 and Bridgewater to round out the Top-4 teams and those who will host quarterfinal games. Randolph-Macon earned the No. 5 seed ahead of Roanoke, Lynchburg and Eastern Mennonite to complete the eight-team field.
Â
As the No. 8 seed, EMU (6-10-1, 4-6-0 ODAC) will travel to W&L for a quarterfinal game on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., which will be the first meeting this year between the teams. In total, the Generals faced and defeated the other six teams joining them in this year's conference tournament by a combined margin of 15-1.
Â
The Generals have been dominant on both ends of the pitch this season, as they enter the conference tournament with a 55-5 goal margin, the second straight season they have entered the tournament with a +50-goal difference. Reigning ODAC Player of the Year
