Four Generals Wrap up First Round of VSGA Intercollegiate Championship

CHESTERFIELD, Va. - Four members of the eighth-ranked Washington and Lee University men's golf team wrapped up round one of the VSGA Intercollegiate Championship at the Lake Chesdin Golf Club on Monday afternoon.

Seniors Peter Sheakley and Teddy Ross, alongside first-years Reid Heaton and William Hull, competed in round one of the 76th VSGA Intercollegiate Championship. Heaton paced the Generals after one round, sitting in third with a score of two-over par (74). He registered two birdies on holes one and five, along with 12 pars. Sheakley sits in a tie for 12th place after round one, shooting a six-over par 78 with four birdies and seven pars. His four birdies came in a five-hole stretch from holes 12 to 16.


Ross finished round one in a tie for 24th place, shooting an 81 (+9) this afternoon. He carded a birdie on the par-four ninth hole with ten pars.Hull rounded out the Blue and White in 29th place with a score of 12-over par (84). He registered a birdie on hole one while adding nine pars, including a five-hole stretch of pars.

  • The quartet is back in action tomorrow for the final round of the tournament with tee times starting at 9 a.m. Heaton and Hull will start on the front nine in tomorrow's rounds on holes 1 and 9, respectively. Ross and Sheakley will kick off action on holes 12 and 16.
