W&L Men's Tennis opens 2025-26 season at ITA Regional Tournament

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – First-year Pearce Lane highlighted the Washington and Lee men's tennis team's opening day at the 2025 ITA Southeast Region Championships on Thursday with a first-round win.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Lane got the Generals off on the right foot with a straight-set win in the Championship Singles Round of 64. He dispatched Ian Ricardo Arenas (Catholic) by a 6-0, 6-1 final.
  • First-years Justin Ilie, Todd Cannaliato and Henry Imorde all made their collegiate debuts. Despite coming up short, Ilie and Imorde went into three sets before falling against their opponents.
UP NEXT:
The second day of the regional tournament will get underway on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. with action in the Championship Doubles bracket. To find which Generals will be active this weekend and in which brackets, click here.
