HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced the 2024-25 All-State Women's Soccer College Division teams and award winners on Tuesday, and Washington and Lee's Bryn Bissinger and Megan Zimmerman claimed two of the four major awards.

Bissinger collected the Defensive Player of the Year award, while Zimmerman was tabbed Rookie of the Year. Both players also made the All-State First Team, along with junior Sarah Zimmerman. Junior Sydney Devory and sophomore Amelia Manke rounded out the Generals' honorees with a second team citation each.

Bissinger, who was also the ODAC Defensive Player of the Year, was a standout for the Generals this season, anchoring a defensive unit that was one of the best in Division III. With Bissinger's help, the Generals allowed just six goals all season, tied for the second-fewest in a season in program history, while posting 19 total shutouts, tied for the most in Division III. Bissinger also added seven points on the offensive end on five assists and a goal, with her assist total tying for fourth on the team. Bissinger's other honors this include First Team All-Region and Third Team All-America from the United Soccer Coaches.

Megan Zimmerman had an immediate impact on the Generals in her first season at W&L, as she was second on the team in both points (18) and goals (8) to earn ODAC Rookie of the Year honors. The 2024 ODAC Rookie of the Year recorded at least one point in eight games this season, including a three-game streak in October. She also scored twice in the team's NCAA Tournament-opening win over Farmingdale State. Zimmerman's strong rookie season earned her Second Team All-Region and First Team All-ODAC laurels, as well.

A 2024 United Soccer Coaches First Team All-American and the 2024 ODAC Player of the Year, Sarah Zimmerman had one of the finest seasons in recent program history, as she finished her junior campaign with 37 points on 14 goals and nine assists, all of which were team highs. Zimmerman led the ODAC in assists and came in third in goals and points, with her 37 points being the most for an individual player for the program since Kat Barnes and Anne Van Devender '09 posted 38 and 45, respectively, in 2008.

Devory was another key piece to a dominant W&L backline this season to earn Third Team All-Region this season. A First Team All-ODAC performer with the Zimmermans and Bissinger, Devory helped the Generals post a 0.26 goals-against average this season, which ranks second in Division III this season. Devory also aided on W&L's set pieces this season and accumulated seven points on a goal and five assists.

Manke, another player that started all 23 games this season for W&L, made an impact up and down the pitch this season. Manke tallied three points this year on a goal (vs. Berry, 9/14) and an assist (at Averett, 10/9) and provided strong play on defense, as well, to earn her to land on the All-ODAC Second Team.

The Generals, who came in 13th in the final coaches poll of the season, posted one of the best seasons in program history in 2024, as they finished with a 20-2-1 overall record, won the fifth ODAC title in program history and made an NCAA Round of 16 appearance.
