BALTIMORE – The 12th-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team suffered just its second loss of the season on Sunday, 5-0, to seventh-ranked Johns Hopkins to bow out of the NCAA Tournament in the Round of 16.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
JHU's (20-4) Ashley Chang and Lia Melvin picked up the largest win in doubles play, with an 8-1 win over senior
Izzy Koziol and first-year
Haley Stoltz at No. 3. Doubles play rounded out with an 8-5 decision at No. 1 and an 8-6 Hopkins win at No. 2.
The Blue Jays rounded out their win with singles win at No. 4 and No. 5, as Sydney Langer and Kamila Wong both posted 6-0, 6-1 wins.
NOTEWORTHY POINTS:
The Generals complete their 2023-24 season with an overall record of 21-2, the most wins and highest winning percentage in a season since going 28-1 (.966) in 2007-08.

Lauren Long were recently selected as participants for this year's NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Singles Championship at the Dwight David Tennis Center in St. Louis, Mo. The tournament will get underway with the Round of 32 and Round of 16 on Saturday May 25. The full championship bracket will be released in the days leading up to the first matches.
