LEXINGTON, Va. — Washington and Lee University field hockey standouts Maddy Duggleby and Betty Boatwright have earned 2024 NFHCA Division III All-Region honors, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced Wednesday. Duggleby was named to the Region VI First Team, while Boatwright received Second Team recognition. Duggleby was also selected to the 2024 NFHCA Senior Team, recognizing her career on and off the field.

Duggleby, a senior midfielder and co-captain, earned her second All-Region nod after being voted as a Second Team All-Region honoree as a junior. The Fayetteville, N.Y. native capped her four years with numerous accolades, including her second straight First Team All-ODAC honor announced in November. Her leadership, skill in transitions, and pivotal role on both offensive and defensive corner units were instrumental in the Generals' success. Her inclusion in the NFHCA Senior Team highlights her standout performance for the Generals over the past four seasons. The Senior Team recognized 60 student-athletes from 46 Division III institutions for their achievements in competition and contributions to the sport.

Boatwright, also a co-captain and a forward, was a consistent offensive force for the Generals. Starting all 19 games, she recorded 11 goals and three assists for 25 points. Her .660 shots-on-goal percentage, 33 shots on target, and four game-winning goals—including two in a 2-0 win over Virginia Wesleyan—demonstrate her impact throughout the fall slate.

Washington and Lee concluded the 2024 season with a 12-7 record, marking the program's fifth consecutive season of double-digit wins. The Generals finished 5-3 in ODAC play and showcased an impressive offensive campaign, outscoring opponents 52-27 and outshooting them 348-154.

The NFHCA All-Region teams, sponsored by Apex Field Hockey, recognize 192 Division III student-athletes across six regions, with up to 16 players selected for each region's first and second teams. These honors precede the announcement of additional postseason awards, including the NFHCA Regional Players of the Year, All-American teams, and National Player of the Year in December.

The NFHCA Senior Team is made possible by longtime coach and donor Karren Mann, whose generosity ensures each selected student-athlete receives a personalized engraved award. Mann's contributions highlight her dedication to recognizing collegiate field hockey players and coaches.
