HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – The ninth-ranked Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team saw 11 different players tally a goal, with senior
Hudson Pokorny (Darien, Conn. / Darien) breaking another program record, in a 16-4 win over Hampden-Sydney in the ODAC Semifinals on Thursday.
Entering the day at 90 points on the season, Pokorny scored two of the W&L's (15-4) first three goals, which vaulted him past A.J. Witherell '19 for the most points recorded in a season in program history (92). Pokorny's record-breaker gave the team a 3-1 lead, but H-SC's (13-5) Campion White brought it back to a one goal game with 9:38 left in the second quarter.
The Generals then sandwiched two 5-0 runs around one Tigers goal across nearly 15 minutes from the second to third quarters for an overall 10-1 run that left the Blue and White ahead, 13-3, with 8:43 left in the third. Sophomores
Hillis Burns (Louisville, Ky. / St. Xavier) and
Jack Elliott (Suffolk, Va. / Norfolk Academy) scored two goals each to lead W&L during the run. On the defensive side, the Tigers took eight shots during that stretch, but seven were off target.
W&L never allowed back-to-back goals in the game and answered each Hampden-Sydney goal with no less than three scores in response. The W&L defense allowed just 15 shots on goal in the game and forced the Tigers into 16 turnovers.
Pokorny and Burns each finished with four points on the day, with Pokorny logging four goals to put his season points total at 94. Burns added two assists to his line, while adding three ground balls. First-year
Elliot Cohen (Stamford, Conn. / Taft School) dished out three assists and
Jack Elliott rounded out the multi-point Generals with his two scores. Junior
Will Bou (Chevy Chase, Md. / Landon) went 13-of-19 (.684) on face-offs, with six ground balls, and senior
Matt Gallagher (Lynchburg, Va. / E.C. Glass) won 3-of-4.

Jed Heald (Manchester, N.H. / Phillips Academy Andover (Mass.)) led all W&L defensemen with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Seniors
Boots Lackey (Alexandria, Va. / The Heights School) and
Harris Hubbard (Madison, Miss. / Highland Park (Texas)) each picked up one ground ball and caused a turnover, with Lackey adding a goal off one of Cohen's three assists. In net, senior
Warren Seeds (Atlanta, Ga. / Westminster) stopped 8-of-12 shots in 55:19 of action, before first-year
Ryan Boyd (Chatham, N.J. / Chatham) covered the final 4:41 and made three saves with no goals allowed.
Patrick Hanes was the lone Tiger with multiple points on the day, as he scored two third-quarter goals. White and Conor Kilfeather tallied the other scores, and Kilfeather added three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Nick Thompson led the team with six ground balls, and Nick Morgan had a strong defensive game with two ground balls and a game-high three caused turnovers. Thomas Harry, Will Perry and Jack Fechter each logged three ground balls and a caused turnover.
In goal, Perry played all 60 minutes in the losing effort, and he made 13 saves.
The shot totals favored W&L by a final 49-41 count, which included a 29-16 advantage for the Generals in the first half. W&L went a near-perfect 22-of-23 on clear attempts and scooped up 40 ground balls to 29 for the home side.
The Generals will appear in the ODAC Championship game for the third time in the last four full seasons on Saturday. They will travel to top-seeded No. 11 Lynchburg with the start time to be determined.
