LEXINGTON, Va. – The 25th-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team claimed a 9-0 win over Bridgewater at home on Tuesday.
The Generals (11-4, 7-0 ODAC) won six of their nine matches on the day in shutout fashion, including all three doubles positions. Sophomore
Evan Erb (St. Louis, Mo. / MICDS) and senior
Evan Brady (Glen Head, N.Y. / Chaminade) played at No. 1, sophomores
Will Kistler (Hilton Head, S.C. / Laurel Springs School) and
Eli Hirshberg (Alpharetta, Ga. / Johns Creek) were the No. 2 duo and junior
Connor Coleman (Birmingham, Ala. / Briarwood Christian) teamed up with sophomore
James Kurani (Charlotte, N.C. / Providence Day) at No. 3.
The three singles sweeps came at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 from first-year
Mateo Moss (Scottsdale, Ariz. / Chaparrel) and juniors
Jonathan Molner (Atlanta, Ga. / Lovett) and
Christian Basnight (Virginia Beach, Va. / Landstown), respectively. First-year
Rider Yeaman (Dallas, Texas / Episcopal School of Dallas) (1) and junior
Josh Rassin (Houston, Texas / Lamar) (5) had matching 6-1, 6-1 victories, and first-year
Jake Vo (Plano, Texas / John Paul II) wrapped up the team's efforts with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2.
Through seven ODAC competitions this season, the Generals are a combined 62-1 in their singles and doubles matches.
W&L will return to action on Thursday in a 3:00 pm home contest against Lynchburg.
