Evan Brady (Glen Head, N.Y. / Chaminade) and sophomore
Evan Erb (St. Louis, Mo. / MICDS) represented the Washington and Lee men's tennis team at the ITA Cup on Thursday, but fell in the first round of the doubles draw.
Brady and Erb faced off against Derin Acaroglu and Vuk Vuksanovic of Tufts University, as the W&L duo fell in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. With a 3-1 lead in the opening frame, Brady and Erb went on to drop five of the next six games to lose the set.
In the second, Acaroglu and Vuksanovic opened with a 3-1 advantage. Brady and Erb then battled to pull back to a 5-4 deficit, before Acaroglu and Vuksanovic closed out the set and the match in the ensuing game.
Brady and Erb will move to the consolation bracket and will play in two matches on Friday.
