FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Washington and Lee University men's tennis team wrapped up day two of the ITA Division III Men's Southeast Regional Championships on Saturday evening. 

Evan Brady (Glen Head, N.Y. / Chaminade) and Evan Erb (St. Lous, Mo. / MICDS) will continue play on Sunday in the semifinals of the Championship Doubles Draw. If the two advance to the championship match, they will qualify for the ITA Cup in Rome, Ga. on October 13-16. 

Through two days, the Blue and White went 6-2 in doubles competition in the Championship Draw. Connor Coleman  (Birmingham, Ala. / Briarwood Christian) and Jack Yeaman (Dallas, Texas / Episcopal School of Dallas) paired up and defeated Burns/Providence of Washington College 8-2 in the roud of 64 on Friday.

Brady/Erb and the combo of Eli Hirshberg (Alpharetta, Ga. / Johns Creek) and Will Kistler (Hilton Head, S.C. / Laurel Springs School) both drew first round byes and advanced to the Round of 32. 

Hirshberg/Kistler and the Coleman/Yeaman pairings fell in the next round. The "Evans" defeated  Fanshawe/Jakobi team from Washington College 8-2 to advance into the Round of 16. The duo came up with a big win over Stevens Tech's Zhang/Persson 8-7 and claimed the tie-break at 7-5. The No. 9 seed then took down No. 3 seeded Reddy/Ardila of Johns Hopkins, 8-4, in the quarterfinal matchup. 

The Generals No. 1 pairing will face Joe DeMarco and Marco Azar from Hopkins for the semifinal match Sunday morning. 

In singles competition, Connor Coleman remains active in the Championship Consolation draw, he will square off with Chaitanya Irkar (Carnegie Mellon) in the round of 16 tomorrow.

- Brady/Erb defeated Reddy/Ardila (Johns Hopkins), 8-4

Semifinals
- Brady/Erb draws DeMarco/Azar (Johns Hopkins)

- Evan Erb defeated Barrett Foster (Hampden-Sydney College), 6-1, 6-4

- Evan Erb defeated Jaden DAbreo (Carnegie Mellon), 6-2, 6-2

- Evan Brady fell to Thomas Yu (Johns Hopkins), 6-1, 6-2
- Evan Erb defeated Joe DeMarco (Johns Hopkins), 1-6, 6-2, 11-9

- Evan Erb fell to Rishi Charan Shankar (University of Mary Washington), 5-7, 7-6(4), 8-10

Action at the ITA Southeast Region Championships will resume on Sunday at 8:30 am. Should any W&L player in the Championship Singles or Doubles brackets reach the championship match, they will qualify for a trip to the ITA Cup in Rome, Ga., from Oct. 13-16.
