Box Score EMORY, Va. – The No. 18 Washington and Lee women's tennis team improved to 2-0 on Saturday afternoon with a 9-0 ODAC win over Emory & Henry.
 
Junior Taylor Garcia (Mandeville, La. / Mount Carmel Academy) and first-year Margaret Carlton (Matthews, N.C. / Charlotte Christian) teamed up in No. 1 doubles for an 8-0 win and they both won in straight sets in singles. Garcia defeated Payton Holt, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 1 while Carlton won over Molly McMichael, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3.
 
Senior Valerie Marshall (Arlington, Va. / Yorktown) and junior Claire Lacksen (Watkinsville, Ga. / Oconee County) also contributed two wins each on the day, pairing in No. 3 doubles for an 8-1 win, before Marshall won at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1, and Lacksen won at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
 
The Generals will return to action on March 26 when they host No. 15 Mary Washington at 3:30 pm.
