INDIANAPOLIS – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced the regional sites for the Sweet 16 and quarterfinals of the Division III Men's Soccer Championship, and Washington and Lee will travel to Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pa.
The 11th-ranked Generals will face fifth-ranked Tufts on Saturday, November 23, at 3:30 pm at Clothier Field Stadium. W&L and the Jumbos will play in the second game of the day, following the Swarthmore vs. No. 18 Connecticut College matchup at 1:00 pm. The winners of the two Saturday games will meet on Sunday at 3:00 pm in the regional championship.
The remaining unbeaten team from the regional site will advance to the NCAA Final Four, which will be held at the UNC Greensboro Soccer Stadium on December 6-7.
This will be the first meeting between Washington and Lee and Tufts in men's soccer. W&L is currently 17-2-3 overall and making its second appearance in the Sweet 16 in the last three seasons. The Jumbos, champions of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), are 16-2-2 overall and on a nine-game unbeaten streak.
