Box Score EMORY, Va. – The 15th-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team defeated Emory & Henry, 5-0, in ODAC action on Wednesday afternoon at the Richardson Tennis Courts.
W&L dropped just one game in doubles action in posting an early 3-0 lead. The Generals then claimed the victory when sophomore Lily Horsley (Richmond, Va. / St. Catherine's School) and senior Emily Kochard (Charlottesville, Va. / Western Albemarle) won their singles matches in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.
With the win, W&L improves to 12-6 overall and 8-0 in the ODAC. The Wasps drop to 4-13 overall and 1-10 in the league.
The Generals will also take on Shenandoah this evening at 5:00 pm in Winchester.
W&L returns to action on Thursday when it travels to Lynchburg for a 12:00 pm contest. The Generals will also travel to Guilford for a 1:00 pm match.
