PEORIA, Ariz. -- The Washington and Lee baseball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 7-4 win over Brandeis (2-1) on Friday evening at the Peoria Sports Complex.
After tying the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first inning, the Generals (3-0) scored three runs in the bottom half of the second to take a 4-1 lead en route it their third win in as many games.
Senior centerfielder
Terrence McKelvey (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) led the offense going 3-for-3 on the day with four runs scored, four stolen bases, and an RBI. Junior catcher
Will Lewis (Columbia, S.C./A.C. Flora) was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs driven in, while sophomore shortstop
John Ditore (Seattle, Wash./Bishop Blanchet) was also 2-for-4 and added one RBI.
Senior pitcher
Andrew Henderson (Atlanta, Ga./Pace Academy) earned the win after allowing two runs (one earned) and four hits with seven strikeouts and a walk in 7.1 innings of work.
W&L returns to action on Saturday with an 11:00 am matchup against Whitworth.
