Gartley Resets Program Record at Liberty Twilight

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Macky Gartley of the Washington and Lee University men's track and field team reset his own program record in the 110m hurdles on Wednesday evening at the Liberty University Twilight.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • Gartley highlighted the day with a pair of top-five finishes while resetting his own program record in the 110m hurdles. In the prelims of the 110m hurdles, he clocked in a personal best time of 14.22s to punch his ticket to the finals before finishing in fifth place with a time of 14.27s. He also competed in the 400m hurdles, finishing in fifth place with a time of 53.85s.
  • Andrew Carroll competed in the 800m this afternoon, finishing in 19th place with a time of 2:02.17. Ethan Khouri and Colin Verrett both competed in the 5,000m with Khouri pacing the duo with a ninth place finish, crossing the finish line in a time of 15:58.19. Verrett clocked in a time of 16:21.44 to finish in 14th place. Kaden Rife rounded out the competitors on the track, finishing in 25th place with a personal best time of 4:10.30.
  • Maddox Noll competed in a pair of events this afternoon, finishing in ninth place in the shot put with a toss of 14.06m (46'-01.50") before turning in a 16th place finish in the discus with a mark of 34.94m (114'-07.50").
  • Ezekiel Mullins competed alongside Noll in the shot put and discus this afternoon. Mullins finished in 11th place in the shot put with a toss of 12.78m (41'-11.00") while recording a mark of 27.35m (89'-08.75") to finish in 17th place in the discus. David Akinnubi rounded out the student-athletes competing,  finishing in sixth place in the high jump after clearing a height of 1.94m (6'-04.25").

  • The Generals will compete again on Monday, May 11 in Chester, Pa. at the Widener Final Qualifier in hopes of securing top marks for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor National Championship on May 21-23 in La Crosse, Wis.
