NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Washington and Lee University men's track and field team was honored for their academic success as they earned the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Team Academic Award while a program record ten student-athletes were named All-Academic.
The Blue and White earned their sixth-straight Team Academic Award after achieving a 3.65 grade point average (GPA), ranking 13th in Division III among the 166 teams honored.
Top Five Teams in Division III:
- Carleton College | 3.78 gpa
- Colorado College | 3.77 gpa
- Pomona Pitzer Colleges | 3.73 gpa
- Emory University | 3.71 gpa
- Massachusetts Institute of Technology | 3.70 gpa
- University of Chicago | 3.70 gpa
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual honors, student-athletes must compile a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30 and either qualify for the NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championships or finish the season ranked among the nation's top 50 in an individual event or top 35 in a relay event. This year's ten selections mark the most in program history.
