Macky Gartley are set to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championship on May 21-23 at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Rush is making his second-straight appearance at the Outdoor National Championship after qualifying and earning Second Team All-America honors in the 10,000m. Gartley is making his second trip to nationals after qualifying in the 60m hurdles during the indoor season, earning Second Team All-America laurels. Daunt rounds out the qualifiers, earning his first career bid to the national meet. The Blue and White's three selections mark the most since 2014, when they sent three individuals and the 4x100m relay team to the national meet.
Rush, a Devon, Pa., native, earned a pair of bids this year as he qualified in the 5,000m and 10,000m. He will kick off the national championship on Thursday, May 21, in the 10,000m, which is scheduled to start at 9:15 p.m. (ET). Rush holds the 11th-best time in the event with a program-record time of 29:36.78, which he set at the Bison Outdoor Classic on April 11. Isaac vanWestrienen of Cornell College holds the top time in the field with a time of 28:52.66. Two First Team All-Americans are returning to the field this year, including Isaac vanWestrienen of Cornell College (third place) and Aidan Matthai of UW-La Crosse (fourth place). Rush joins Logan Murphy of UW-Stevens Point (10th place) and BJ Sorg of North Central College (12th place) as returning Second Team All-Americans.
Gartley, a Sewickley, Pa., native, qualified for the second time in his career and for the first time during the outdoor season in the 110m hurdles. He holds the 14th-best time in the field with a program-record time of 14.14s, which he set at the Widener Final Qualifier on May 11. The prelims of the event are set for Friday, May 22, at 5:25 p.m. (ET). He will compete in Heat 2 alongside Tyler Botz of UW-Eau Claire, Jacob Young, Eli Etherton, and Noah Smith of Nebraska Wesleyan, and Aaron Poelma and Luke Schroeder of UW-La Crosse. Schroeder of UWL holds the top time entering the event with a mark of 13.32s, while four All-Americans return from last year's championship. Jason Agyemang of Rowan, the 2025 national runner-up, Anaias Hughes of Rowan (seventh place), and Gunner Meyer of Central College (eighth place) are returning First Team All-Americans, while Thomas Casey of UW-Stout is a returning Second Team selection.
Rush and Daunt, a Haymarket, Va., native, will cap off the weekend in the 5,000m on Saturday night at 5:25 p.m. (ET). Rush heads into the championship with the 19th-fastest time in the field with a program-record time of 14:07.83, which he set at the Widener Final Qualifier on May 11. Daunt, who joined the field on Monday evening due to a medical scratch, holds the 22nd-fastest time in the field with a mark of 14:14.08, the second-fastest time in program history. Rush and Daunt become the first duo in program history to run in the same race at the National Championship in the same season. They will join five returning All-Americans in the field, including First Team selections Chasen Hunt of Lynchburg, the 2025 national champion, Emmanuel Leblond of Johns Hopkins (third place), the 2025 Cross Country indvidual national champion, and Isaac vanWestrienen of Cornell College (fifth place). Kevin Turlington of St. Olaf (11th place) and Lance Sobaski of Wartburg (13th place) are returning Second Team All-Americans.
