Daunt Posts Top Five Mark at the Hill City Twilight

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Sam Daunt of the Washington and Lee Unviersity men's track and field team moved into the top-five list on Saturday at the Hill City Twilight while the squad posted eight top-eight performances.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • Sam Daunt highlighted the day as he moved into the program's record book in the 1,500m. Daunt clocked in a personal best time of 3:53.98 to finish in third place and move into fourth all-time.
  • Maddox Noll had a pair of top-five finishes in the shot put and discus. In the shot put, Noll finished in 4th place with a personal best mark of 14.18m (46'-06.25"). He finished in third place in the discus after recording a toss of 39.75m (130'-05.00").
  • Ezekiel Mullins recorded a third place finish in the javelin after recording a toss of 34.75m (114'-00.00") while finishing in fifth place in the shot put with a mark of 12.85m (42'-02.00").
  • Troy Spillman finished in second place in the javelin, recording a toss of 44.55m (146'-02.00"). David Akinnubi matched his personal best after clearing a height of 1.94m (6'-04.25') to finish in second place. Evan Langhammer rounded out the student-athletes competing, finishing in second place in the pole vault with a mark of 4.58m (15'-00.25").
