Pair of Men's Track & Field Records Fall at Widener Final Qualifier

CHESTER, Pa. - A pair of Washington and Lee University men's track and field records fell on Monday at the Widener Final Qualifier as Keaton Rush and Macky Gartley reset their own program records in their respective events.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • The Blue and White ended the night with a pair of top performances as Rush reset his own program record which he set last season in the 5,000m. Rush crossed the finish line in a personal best time of 14:07.83, the 20th-fastest time in Division III, to finish in 4th place. Sam Daunt accompanied Rush in the 5k, posting the second-fastest time in program history and the 24th-fastest in DIII this season as he clocked in a personal best time of 14:14.08 to finish in 5th place. Daunt shaved off nearly 32 seconds off his previous personal best which he set earlier this season.
  • Gartley reset his own program record for the second-straight week after clocking in the 11th-fastest time in Division III this season in the 110m hurdles. He posted a time of 14.26s in the prelims to qualify in the finals before crossing the finish line in a time of 14.14s to finish in fourth place. 
  • David Akinnubi moved up one spot in the high jump ranks to No. 3 all-time as he cleared a personal best height of 1.95m (6'-04.75") to finish in ninth place overall.
  • Maddox Noll competed in a pair of events on Monday, finish in ninth place in the shot put with a mark of 13.09m (42'-11.50") while turning in a 12th place finish in the discus with a toss of 39.87m (130'-09.00").
  • Ezekiel Mullins finished right behind Noll in tenth place in the shot put, recording a mark of 12.81m (42'-00.50").
