HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Washington and Lee University men's track and field team gears up for championship season this weekend as they head to Harrisonburg, Va. for the 2026 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Outdoor Championship on Friday and Saturday at the EMU Track & Field Facility.
Last season, the Blue and White finished second at the Outdoor Meet, totaling 113 points across the two-day meet. The Generals captured three event titles and earned an additional 11 All-ODAC citations for their top-three performances at the meet.
The Generals return three ODAC Champions from last year's squad including three-time outdoor pole vault champion,
Evan Langhammer. He won his third-straight and sixth overall title in the event last season after clearing a meet record height of 5.03m (16'-06.00") which also punched his ticket to the National Championship. He enters this year's championship with the league's top mark with a height of 4.77m.
Brandon Makowski became the eighth General in program history to secure a title in the javelin last season after recording a personal best mark of 51.13m (167'-09.00"). He enters the field with the fourth-best mark this season at 49.47m. Leo Avigliano rounds out the returning champions for W&L, securing a title in the discus, becoming the fourth student-athlete in program history to do so. He set a new program and meet record in the event, recording a toss of 48.93m (160'-06.00").
Robert Cooper and Keaton Rush are returning All-ODAC performers on the track for the Blue and White, earning second and third team honors in the 5,000m last season. Cooper finished in second place last season in the 5k, crossing the finish line in a time of 14:56.97 while Rush turned in a third place finish with a time of 14:59.48. Cooper is ranked 9th in the 10,000m and 11th in the 1,500m heading into the championship meet. Rush is ranked 8th in the 1,500m heading into the event on Saturday. O'Keefe McKinney rounds out the All-ODAC returners after reeling in Third Team honors in the shot put last season with a mark of 14.24, (46'-08.75"). He ranks sixth in the shot put at 13.47m while posting the 16th-best mark in the league in the discus at 35.24m.
