INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Three members of the Washington and Lee University women's track and field team qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Birmingham, Ala., the organization announced on Sunday night.
Seniors Jesma Evans, Bailey Hedgemon and Camille Gillum were all selected, marking the second-most selections for the indoor national meet in program history.
Gillum is making her second-straight appearance at the Indoor Championships after qualifying in the high jump. Gillum owns the eighth-best mark heading into the national meet, clearing a program record height of 1.70m (5'-07.00"). Evans is also heading to the National Championship for the second time after posting a qualifying mark in the 400m. She ranks 20th in the field in the event with a time of 56.26s, a converted mark for the banked track, which she ran at the ODAC Championships, setting the meet and program record with a flat track time of 57.00s. Hedgemon is making her first trip to the national meet after posting the 14th-best mark in weight throw this season at the South Region Final Qualifier on Saturday. She reset her own program record with a mark of 17.37m (56'-11.75") to become the Generals' first representative in the event in program history.
Hedgemon will kick off the National Championship on Friday at 3 p.m. while Evans will compete in the 400m prelims at 3:05 p.m. The finals for the 400m are slated for Saturday at 4:25 p.m. Gillum will wrap up the national meet on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. You can follow along via Live Results on Leonetiming.com.
