Women’s Track & Field Competes at JMU Invite, Bison Outdoor Classic

HARRISONBURG, Va. / LEWISBURG, Pa. - The 13th-ranked Washington and Lee University women's track and field team split up on Saturday with members of the team competing in Harrisonburg at the JMU Invite and in Pennslyvania at the Bison Outdoor Classic.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • Olivia D'Ambrosia, Lilly Versen, Ana Hodneland, and Kaia Beddows kicked off the meet with a seventh-place finish in the 4x100m relay, crossing the finish line in a time of 48.75s, the fourth-fastest time in program history.
  • Audrey Robinson turned in a seventh-place finish in the 3,000m, clocking a time of 11:23.19. The Generals had three student-athletes compete in the 3,000m steeplechase, with Brianna Breyault leading the way with a second-place finish in 11:40.03. Josie Engle finished in fourth with a personal-best time of 11:46.52, the seventh-best mark in program history, moving past Eve Spencer's mark set in 2024. Hannah Adams rounded out the trio with a sixth-place finish, crossing the line in 12:20.05.
  • Bailey Hedgemon finished in second place in the hammer throw with a toss of 50.02m (164'-01.00"), while Bella Timmerding posted the third-best mark in program history with a throw of 42.75m (140'-03.00"), surpassing Emma Coleman's mark of 139'-09.00" set in 2019. Katie Wood turned in a sixth-place finish in the javelin with a toss of 30.62m (100'-05.00").
  • Lilly Versen recorded a mark of 5.33m (17'-06.00") to finish seventh in the long jump, the fifth-best mark in program history, moving past Bella Devraj's mark of 17'-04.25" set in 2024. Mackenzie Morante added a seventh-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 10.51m (34'-05.75").
  • In the pole vault, the Generals went 2-3-4, with Mad McMurphy leading the way with a second-place finish after clearing 3.35m (10'-11.75"). Abby Cholewa finished third with the same height, the sixth-best mark in program history, while Gabby Pullen placed fourth after clearing 3.20m (10'-06.00").
  • Olivia Warr capped off Saturday with a record breaking performance in the 10,000m at the Bison Outdoor Classic. Warr posted the fifth-fastest time in Division III this evening while breaking the program and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) records with a time of 34:53.56. She broke Elise Molinaro's program record time of 36:28.51 which was set in 2024 and Allison Dell's (Lynchburg) ODAC record of 34:57.06 which was set last season.

  • The Generals are back in action on April 17-18 as they head to Newport News, Va. for the New Captains Classic at Christopher Newport University.
