Throws Crew Opens Doc Jopson Invite on Friday

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Washington and Lee University men's track and field throws crew opened up the Doc Jopson Invite on Friday afternoon in the Discus and Javelin.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • Leo Avigliano highlighted the first day of action after turning in a top finish in the discus, recording a season-best mark of 46.67m (153'-01.25"). Maddox Noll turned in a top-eight finish, recording a toss of 36.48m (119'-08.00") to finish in eighth place. O'Keefe McKinney finished in 12th place with a mark of 33.28m (109'-02.00") while Ezekiel Mullins finished in 19th place with a toss of 29.14m (95'-07.00").
  • Will Vaughn led a javelin trio with a sixth place finish, recording a mark of 41.31m (135'-06.25"). Troy Spillman finished four spots behind him in 10th place with a toss of 32.97m (108'-02.00") while Mullins registered a mark of 31.87m (104'-06.50") to finish in 12th place.
PERSONAL / SEASON BESTS TOP FINISHERS UP NEXT
  • The Generals are back in action tomorrow mooring at 10:30 a.m. with the long jump. The 4x100m relay will kick off the events on the track at 11:30 a.m.
