David Detwiler
I am really excited for this coming season with the leadership of two great captains, Sanjheev Rao and Heys Parker. They will lead a young team of two sophomores and five first-years into a very difficult schedule. This will prove to be valuable experience for the entire team and we look forward to our conference schedule and the post season.

We are also lucky to have the coaching experience of James Moeckel, who was hired at the start of our winter practice schedule.
Head Coach David Detwiler (26th Season)

2025-26 Schedule Overview

FALL RECAP
The Generals will enter the 2026 spring season with a 2-0 overall record, with both wins already having come in conference play. The team totaled 16 wins in Fredericksburg, 13 coming in singles, with first-year Harrison Silver and sophomore Ryan Good making deep runs in the B3 Singles draw.

SPRING OUTLOOK
The Generals have 17 matches on their spring schedule, split between 6 at home and 11 on the road, while 11 of the 17 will be against non-conference teams and three against non-Division III opponents. Out of the 17 matches leading into ODAC Tournament play, seven feature opponents currently ranked in the ITA’s preseason poll.

Non-Conference Schedule

ODAC Schedule
Two of the Generals’ six ODAC matches in the spring will be at home with other four being true road matches. Key Returners

Heys Parker '27
Ryan Good '28
Sanjheev Rao '27
Sahil Arora '28

The Generals return two of their 2025 All-ODAC players to this year’s team in junior Heys Parker and sophomore Ryan Good, with junior Sanjheev Rao and sophomore Sahil Arora serving as key contributors a season ago.

Parker posted a 13-9 record in singles play and featured primarily out of the No. 5 spot to claim First Team All-ODAC honors at that position. Parker went 7-4 at No. 5, and he added a mark of 3-2 at No. 4. Parker also made the All-ODAC Doubles First Team at No. 2 with recent graduate Eli Hirshberg. Individually, Parker was 13-10 in doubles play and 8-2 at No. 2.

Good brought home ODAC co-Rookie of the Year honors last season, in addition to First Team All-ODAC at No. 6 singles. He won all eight of his singles matches, three of which came at the No. 6 slot, and he is already off to a 3-1 start this season through fall matches. Good was most featured in doubles play last year, as he went 12-12, shifting between No. 2 (5-6) and No. 3 (6-2).

Rao was a regular starter in singles play for the 2025 Generals and posted a 12-8 record, which included a five-match winning streak to close the season. Rao went 8-2 at No. 6, while adding six wins in doubles play, and he has split four singles matches to start his junior season.

Arora rounds out the returning Generals. He posted a 10-4 singles record last season and went 4-2 at the No. 4 position, which was the best winning percentage on the team among players with multiple matches at No. 4. Arora is also off to a 2-2 start in singles play this season, to go along with a 2-2 record in doubles.

Team Captains

Heys Parker, Sanjheev Rao - 2026 Men's Tennis captains

Junior Heys Parker is in his first season as a team captain for the W&L men's tennis team.

Parker has been one of the Generals' top players of the last two seasons, posting a singles record of 27-18 compared to a doubles mark of 31-20. Parker has won double-digit singles and doubles matches in both seasons of his collegiate career so far, with already four First Team All-ODAC citations (two each in singles and doubles).

Off the courts, Parker has earned W&L Scholar Athlete honors four times so far as a business administration and Spanish double-major, to go along with two ITA Scholar Athlete citations.

Junior Sanjheev Rao is also a first-time captain for the Generals, matching Parker's on- and off-the-court leadership and experience.

For his career, Rao has played to a 31-18 record in singles and 18-10 mark in doubles through matches this past fall. Rao claimed First Team All-ODAC honors as a first-year at No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles after posting records of 17-8 in singles and 11-2 in doubles.

Rao is a chemistry major who is a perfect 5-for-5 in earning W&L Scholar Athlete status, on top of two ODAC All-Academic Team selections and two ITA Scholar Athlete citations.
