HOLLINS, Va. — The Washington and Lee University equestrian team delivered its strongest performance of the season on Saturday, winning the Hollins IHSA show with a season-best 41 points after the drop.
The total marks the Generals' highest team score of the year and moves W&L into third place in the region standings with two shows remaining in the regular season.
W&L was powered by four class victories on the day. Samantha Bourque captured the Intermediate Flat title and finished second in Intermediate Fences, earning Reserve High Point Rider of the Day honors.
Tytus Boston won the Pre-Novice Class, while Kate Martin led a dominant showing in Introductory, claiming first as Henry McClure secured second.
The Generals also received runner-up finishes from Elisabeth Marek in Open Flat, Ella Hudson in Limit Flat Section A, Eva Lunn in Limit Flat Section B, and Ryon Sinclair in Limit Fences Section C. Marek's Open Flat performance qualified her for Regionals in the class.
