Warr Wins and No. 11 W&L Women’s Cross Country Places Third at Virginia Tech Invitational

BLACKSBURG, Va. — The No. 11 Washington and Lee women's cross country team finished third at the Virginia Tech Invitational on Friday evening at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course. The Generals tallied 56 points to trail only Radford (36) and Virginia Tech (41) in a competitive field that featured only Division I and II opposition.

Olivia Warr paced the field and claimed the individual title in 13:42.9, marking a strong start for her junior campaign. Radford's Sophie Magson (13:47.4) and Virginia Tech's Sophia Holgado (13:56.3) rounded out the top three individuals, while the Highlanders and Hokies finished first and second, respectively, in the team standings.

W&L placed five runners in the top 21 to secure third place. Warr's top-time was followed by Josie Engle in 11th (14:43.5), Madison Morgan in 14th (14:50.5), Claire Fuchs in 16th (14:53.0), and Amelia Weenig in 21st (14:56.9). Eve Spencer added a 24th-place finish (14:59.0), while Reese Brown closed the scoring with a 26th-place showing (15:03.6).
