NEW ORLEANS — Seven Washington and Lee University women's cross country student-athletes were recognized as USTFCCCA NCAA Division III All-Academic Athletes, and the Generals were also named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, as announced Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

To earn individual All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet. Team honors are awarded to programs posting a cumulative GPA of 3.10 or higher, including the most recent grading period.

W&L's seven honorees were Reese Brown (Cognitive and Behavioral Science), Adelaide Ellis (Undeclared), Josie Engle (Undeclared), Lydia Harvey (Biology), Madison Morgan (Undeclared), Eve Spencer (Engineering), and Olivia Warr (Cognitive and Behavioral Science). The group combined for an impressive 3.75 GPA.

As a team, the Generals recorded a 3.67 cumulative GPA, once again earning All-Academic Team recognition under head coach Michael Dager. Washington and Lee was one of only eight programs nationally to have all seven regional competitors earn individual All-Academic honors.

The academic accolades cap a historic 2025 season on the course for the Generals, who finished fifth in a loaded field at the Paul Short Invitational, captured their 21st ODAC championship, placed second at the NCAA South Region Championship, and earned a 15th-place finish at the NCAA Division III National Championship.

Individually, Lydia Harvey was named the ODAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while Olivia Warr earned both ODAC and South Region Runner of the Year honors. Warr also placed fourth at the NCAA Championship, marking the highest national finish in program and ODAC history.
