No. 16 Men's Cross Country Sweeps Field, Wins Hornet Harrier

WINCHESTER, Va. – The No. 16 Washington and Lee men's cross country team turned in a perfect performance at the Hornet Harrier Invitational on Saturday, scoring 15 points to win the 6k race in dominant fashion. The Generals swept the top five places, finishing well ahead of runner-up Hagerstown CC (67 points) and third-place Potomac State College (90 points).

First-year Hall Wildman paced the Generals with his first collegiate victory, crossing the line in 20:32.3. He was immediately followed by sophomores Davis Amare (20:41.7) in second and Teddy Meredith (20:43.2) in third, junior William Fitch (20:48.3) in fourth, and first-year Ethan Khouri (21:00.9) in fifth to complete the sweep.

Sophomore Mitchell DiMond (7th, 21:34.8) and first-year John Hogan (8th, 21:39.0) displaced additional runners, while first-year Jack Camp (22:01.3) and junior Jaden Brighter (22:32.8) also placed inside the top 15. W&L's top five combined for a team average time of 20:46 with just a 28-second spread. Full results can be found here.

Up Next: The Generals return to action on Friday, October 3, at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. The men's race is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course.
