Field Hockey Grounded by No. 10 Ducks in 2–0 Loss

HOBOKEN, N.J. — The Washington and Lee University field hockey team fell 2–0 to 10th-ranked Stevens on Saturday afternoon at the DeBaun Athletic Complex. Stevens (8–0) capitalized on goals in the first and third quarters, while the Generals (4–3) were unable to break through in the non-conference matchup.

The Ducks struck early at 2:37 when Lauren Flynn scored unassisted off a penalty corner. Stevens doubled the advantage at 44:00 as Aleah Dinmore redirected a feed from Taylor Brooks inside the circle.

Washington and Lee's best chances came in the third and fourth quarters, where they generated three shots and two penalty corners, but Stevens goalkeeper Lily Wierzbicki stopped the lone shot on goal she faced. Senior keeper Julia McDonald kept W&L in contention with seven saves, including five in the opening quarter.
