LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Washington and Lee University women's volleyball team reached their highest national ranking in program history, checking in at No. 6 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/TARAFLEX Week Three poll.

The Generals have been ranked in the AVCA poll every week since first entering on September 17 of last season. This week, W&L climbed three spots from No. 9 to No. 6 nationally after starting the season 10–0, including a 1–0 mark in conference play. Nine of those 10 victories have come in straight sets, with the lone set dropped in a 3–1 win over Southern Virginia on Sept. 6.

Junior Grace Mitchener and senior Riley Debiec have powered the offense for the Blue and White. Mitchener leads the team with 114 kills on 297 attempts with just 18 errors, hitting .323 while averaging 4.38 kills per set—ranking 14th in Division III this season. Debiec ranks second on the team with 85 kills and a .266 hitting percentage, averaging 2.93 kills per set.

First-year Sienna Nicholson has been the anchor of the offense, dishing out 233 assists for an average of 8.03 per set. Junior Vivi Vasquez has led the defensive effort, recording 149 digs (5.14 per set) while maintaining a .989 reception percentage with only one error.
