GREENSBORO, N.C. - The second-ranked Washington and Lee University men's golf team turned in a sixth place finish, shooting eight-over par (872) at the Gate City Invite on Tuesday while Junior
Jonathan McEwen finished in a tie for first place with a score of six-under par (208) at Forest Oak Country Club.
The Generals slipped three spots in the final round, carding a 299 (+11) to finish sixth overall. Fifth-ranked Sewanee held on for the team title at three-under par (861), closing with a 292 (+4).
No. 9 Carnegie Mellon finished runner-up at two-under par, while No. 7 Huntingdon placed third at one-under. Sixth-ranked Oglethorpe secured fourth at two-over par, and No. 3 Emory rounded out the top five at seven-over.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Jonathan McEwen earned a share of the tournament title after finishing six-under par (64-72-74 - 210) across three rounds. In the final round, McEwen carded four birdies, including one on the closing hole, to secure a tie for first. He led the field in par-5 scoring with a 4.17 average (-10) and in total eagles (3). McEwen also ranked tied for 18th in total birdies (10), tied for 16th in par-4 scoring (4.10, +3), and tied for 25th in par-3 scoring (3.08, +1). He was named to the All-Tournament Team following the event.
- Sophomore Charlie Krasnewich climbed seven spots on the final day, finishing at three-over par (72-74-73 - 219). He closed with a 73 (+1), highlighted by three birdies and 11 pars. Krasnewich tied for sixth in total pars (37), ranked tied for eighth in par-4 scoring (4.03, +1), and tied for 22nd in par-5 scoring (4.75, -3).
- Sophomore Tim Kaufman joined Krasnewich in a tie for 20th with a two-over par total (72-70-77 - 219), sliding nine spots after a final-round 77 (+5). He posted one birdie and 12 pars in the round. Kaufman tied for 10th in par-3 scoring (3.00, E), tied for 22nd in par-5 scoring (4.75, -3), and tied for 13th in total pars (36).
- Senior captain Turner Edwards finished at 10-over par (79-72-75 - 226). He shot a 75 (+3) in the final round, recording one birdie and 14 pars, and closed tied for 36th in par-5 scoring (4.83, -2).
- First-year William Hull capped his debut tournament with a 14-over par total (77-76-77 - 230), finishing tied for 73rd. In the final round, Hull carded two birdies and nine pars on his way to a 77 (+5).
