NORMAN, Okla. - Three Washington and Lee University men's golfers were named NCAA Division III Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced on Tuesday afternoon.

To be eligible for the award, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. This year, 202 NCAA Division III athletes from 78 schools were recognized for their academic achievements.

The three Generals honored:

• Will Braxton
• Elias Malakoff
• Jonathan McEwen

Recent graduates Will Braxton and Elias Malakoff earned their second-straight honor from the organization while rising junior Jonathan McEwen was named a All-America Scholar for the first time in his career.
