No. 2 Men’s Golf Releases Fall Competition Schedule

LEXINGTON, Va. - Thomas R. Wall IV '80 Head Men's Golf Coach Pete Gyseck has announced the team's competition schedule for the fall season. 

The second-ranked Generals will open their fall slate on Sept. 16 in Greensboro, N.C., at the Gate City Invite. The two-day event will feature a 36-hole format on Monday the 15th, followed by an 18-hole round on Tuesday the 16th. The field will include 12 of the preseason top-25 teams, highlighted by the nation's top three: Methodist University (No. 1), Washington and Lee (No. 2), and Emory University (No. 3).


The following weekend, Sept. 21–23, the Blue and White will travel to Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., for the NCAA Preview at Mission Inn Resort, playing 18 holes each day. After a two-week break, the Generals will head to Ligonier, Pa., for the Tartan Invitational at Laurel Valley Golf Club on Oct. 13–14, featuring 36 holes on the opening day and 18 on the final day.

Individual members of the team will conclude the fall season on Oct. 20-21 at the VSGA Collegiate Individual Championship, hosted at Lake Chesdin Golf Club in Chesterfield, Va.
