GREENWOOD, Ind. - Sophomore Jonathan McEwen of the Washington and Lee University men's golf team was selected to the College Sport Communicators (CSC) Division III Men's At-Large Academic All-America® Second Team, the organization announced on Wednesday afternoon.

McEwen becomes the fourth General in program history to be named a CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-American, joining Brian Peccie '20, Luke Farley '18 and Nathaniel James '08, '11L as recipients of the award.

The Portsmouth, Va., native had another impressive season with the Blue and White, ascending to the No. 1 national ranking. McEwen record six top-three finishes with a program-record five individual wins in nine event this season. He rewrote the W&L record books as he set the program's 54-hole scoring record twice and helped lead the Generals to new team records for 18-, 36-, and 54-hole totals, as well as the program's first-ever No. 1 national team ranking.

Throughout his sophomore campaign, he was a consistent threat on the course, posting even-par or better scores in 22 of 26 rounds. He capped off the season with an impressive 68.5 adjusted scoring average—the only sub-70 mark in Division III.

McEwen broke both the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and W&L 54-hole scoring records on his way to the individual title at the 2025 ODAC Championships, posting a 12-under 204. At the NCAA Championship, he helped lead the team to a fourth-place finish—the program's fourth consecutive top-10 showing—finishing tied for tenth individually at four-over par.

He added multiple accolades to his resume this season, earning recognition as the 2025 NCAA Division III Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year—the first General in program history to earn the prestigious honor, ODAC Golfer of the Year, First Team All-ODAC, PING All-Region IV, and PING First Team All-American for the second consecutive year.
