GENEVA, Ohio - Junior
Keaton Rush earned Second Team All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships after posting a top-16 finish in the 10,000m on Thursday evening.
Rush earned a bid to the National Championships after posting the seventh-fastest time during the regular season at the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University. He competed alongside 21 of the best 10k runners in Division III this evening, finishing in 16th place after crossing the finish line in a time of 30:39.21. However, a disqualification to the apparent National Champion moved each runner up one spot, causing Rush to finish in 15th place.
His finish marks the best finish in program history as Mac Strehler, the only other 10,000m national qualifier, finished in 18th place in 2017. This finish also landed him his first career All-America honors, earning second team honors after finishing within the top-16.
Junior Evan Langhammer will wrap up the national meet on Saturday as he competes in the pole vault at noon.
