FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced the 2025 Men's Tennis all-conference teams and award winners on Tuesday, and first-year
Ryan Good highlighted Washington and Lee's selections as the co-Rookie of the Year.
Good becomes just the fourth player in program history to be named ODAC Rookie of the Year and the first since teammate
Will Kistler did so in 2022. Good also picked up an All-ODAC First Team Singles citation at No. 6, and he was joined on the singles first team by seniors
Evan Erb (1),
Will Kistler (2) and
James Kurani (3) and sophomore
Heys Parker (5). Erb and Kistler claimed the First Team No. 1 Doubles spot, with Parker and senior
Eli Hirshberg at No. 2. Hirshberg rounded out the Generals' All-ODAC selections with an All-ODAC Second Team Singles nod at No. 4.
Good posted a strong opening season for the Generals, going 8-0 in singles play and 12-12 across all doubles matches, the most doubles matches played by any General this season. In singles play, Good went 5-0 against ODAC opponents and 3-0 at No. 6, while adding one win each at Nos. 3 and 5. Good played doubles with Kurani for a majority of the season before pairing with sophomore
Sanjheev Rao for the final five. Good went 6-3 with Rao as his partner and 6-2 overall at No. 3 on the season.
Erb has performed strongly yet again this season to claim his fourth straight No. 1 Singles All-ODAC First Team citation. Heading into the NCAA Division III Singles Championship, Erb is 14-6 overall in singles play and went 11-3 at No. 1 during the regular season, including 5-1 against ODAC opponents. Erb's upcoming appearance in the national singles tournament will be the second of his career after a first-round finish two seasons ago.
Kistler also gets his fourth All-ODAC citation and his third first team award at No. 2 of his career after a 9-5 season at the No. 2 spot and an 11-11 ledger overall. Kistler and Erb also claimed their second All-ODAC First Team No. 2 doubles nod, but their first as a tandem. Together, the two seniors went 13-6 in doubles matches this season, 11-5 at No. 1 and 5-0 against conference foes.
Kurani is another player to get his fourth straight All-ODAC citation and third on the singles first team after slotting in at No. 6 as a first-year and No. 5 last season. Kurani was elevated in the lineup for his senior season and produced a 6-3 record at No. 3 singles, while going 12-11 across all singles matches. Kurani won 4-of-5 matches in conference play and added three additional wins across No. 2 and No. 4 singles.
Parker also moved up in the Generals' singles lineup this season following a First Team No. 6 Singles honor as a first-year. Parker went 7-4 at No. 5 and a perfect 5-0 against ODAC opponents. Parker also played up at No. 4 singles five times this season and won three of those matches.
Hirshberg and Parker were the All-ODAC First Team No. 2 Doubles tandem this season after going 3-2 at No. 2 and 4-1 in ODAC play. Both players earn their second career All-ODAC First Team nod in doubles, but first as a pairing. Hirshberg caps off this season's All-ODAC players with a second team singles honor at the No. 4 position, where he went 6-1 against conference foes.
The Generals wrapped up their 2024-25 season as a team in the ODAC Championship match on May 4. Erb will play in the first round of the national singles tournament on Friday, May 23, in Claremont, Calif.
