LEXINGTON, Va. – The 22nd-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team closed out its 2024-25 regular season in strong fashion with a 7-0 win against Lynchburg on the home courts.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Generals (14-6, 9-0 ODAC) trotted out seniors
Evan Erb and
Will Kistler at No. 1 doubles, senior
James Kurani and sophomore
Heys Parker at No. 2 and sophomore
Sanjheev Rao and first-year
Ryan Good at No. 3. All three W&L doubles teams won by 6-1 scores.
W&L then won all six singles matches in straight sets, losing only 13 games total across the 12 total sets. First-year
Sahil Arora got the first singles point in a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4, followed by Rao (6) and Kistler (2) dropping just one game each. Kurani won both of his sets 6-1 at No. 3, Parker was a 6-0, 6-4 winner at No. 5 and Erb rounded out the winners with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1.
UP NEXT/ODAC TOURNAMENT OUTLOOK:
The Generals will be off until match play until the ODAC Tournament gets underway on Wednesday, April 30. As the only undefeated team in the conference, the Generals will be the top seed and host the No. 8 seed in the April 30 quarterfinal match. The ODAC will announce complete tournament seedings and matchups once all teams have completed their conference schedule.
