No. 16 W&L rolls past Bridgewater on home courts

LEXINGTON, Va. – The No. 16 Washington and Lee men's tennis team bounced back into the win column on Monday afternoon with a 7-0 sweep of Bridgewater.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Generals (8-3, 5-0 ODAC) rolled through doubles play, winning all three matches by a combined score of 18-2. Junior Jake Vo and first-year Ryan Good played at No. 2, with sophomore Britton Buckingham and first-year Sahil Arora at No. 3, and both tandems shut their opponents out. Senior Eli Hirshberg and sophomore Heys Parker rounded out the doubles wins with a 6-2 result at No. 1.

W&L continued to dominate throughout singles, as each of the first four matches to finish featured a General dropping no more than one game in their wins. Arora (3) was the only W&L player to go 6-0, 6-0, but Vo (4), Good (5) and Buckingham (6) all cruised. Parker won his first set 6-0 at No. 2 before closing out his win with a 6-2 second-set score. Hirshberg battled Corey Beshoar at the top spot and emerged victorious 6-3, 6-3.

UP NEXT:
The Generals will be back in action next Wednesday, March 26, when they take on both Centre and Ferrum at home.
